Solar Panels

Solar PVpanel use the light available from the sun to generateelectricity and feed this into the inverter / charge controller. The PV panels convert the light reaching them into DC power. Theamount of power they produce is roughly proportional to the intensity andthe angle of the light reaching them. They are therefore positioned to takemaximum advantage of available sunlight within siting constraints. Maximum power is obtained when the panels are able to 'track' the sun'smovements during the day and the various seasons. However, thesetracking mechanisms tend to add a fair bit to the cost of the system, so amost of installations either have fixed panels or compromise byincorporating some limited manual adjustments, which take into account thedifferent 'elevations' of the sun at various times of the year. The bestelevations vary with the latitude of the load location

Solar photovoltaic modules can be developed in various combinationsdepending upon the requirements of the voltage and power output to betaken from the solar plant. No. of cells and modules may vary dependingupon the manufacturer prudent practice.

    Photovoltaic Benefits:

    • Solar power provided by photovoltaic systems lower your utility bills and insulates you from utility rate hikes and price volatility due to fluctuating energy prices.
    • Installing a solar system increases property value and home resale opportunities
    • Purchase of a solar power system allows you to take advantage of available tax and financial incentives.
    • Because they don't rely on miles of exposed wires, residential PV systems are more reliable than utilities, particularly when the weather gets nasty.
    • PV modules have no moving parts, degrade very, very slowly, and boast a life span that isn't fully known yet, but will be measured in decades.
    • Solar electric systems are quiet, reliable, fossil-fuel free
