On –Grid
The Solar PCU is an advanced TRUE SOLAR high efficiency Solar Power Conditioning Unit which offers very unique and powerful features. The load is automatically powered either from the inverter or the Grid depending on the availability of Solar Energy and status of the battery. Similarly, the grid charger or the solar charger come on depending on the battery charge status and the availability of solar energy. Solar charger always take priority over Grid Charger. It has two mode of operations – Solar mode to minimize electricity bill and NORMAL mode to maximize power availability. These powerful features make this a TRUE SOLAR PCU. The output is highly regulated and stable pure sine-wave which can be used for any type of sensitive and expensive electronic equipment’s. It can run any domestic load like incandescent bulbs, CFL lamps, Fluorescent lamps, Halogen Lamps, Fans, mixers, blenders, food processors, TV, music system, DVD player, personal Computer etc.
This Solar Power Conditioning Unit is a grid interactive, off grid Solar Power conditioning Unit. It consists of a sine wave Inverter, Solar Charger, Grid charger, power switching unit and management and control system all integrated in one unit. It processes power from utility grid supply, Solar PV panel and the stored energy in the battery. The internal management algorithm selects the appropriate power source based on the strength of solar energy, battery charge level etc and provides pure sine wave power to the connected loads. Simultaneously it charges the battery with solar as the priority source. It has two user selectable operating modes which can make this equipment operate as a solar power generator or as a solar power backup system.
System components:
- PV module –converts sunlight into DC electricity. Solar panels mounted on the roof orin open spaces.
- Solar charge controller –regulates the voltage and current coming from the PV panelsgoing to battery and prevents battery overcharging and prolongs the battery life.
- Inverter - Specially designed inverter to transform the PV generated DC electricity to thegrid electricity (which is of AC) at the grid voltage.
- Battery bank - The battery bank stores the solar charge for use by the inverter. In a normal day solar energy keeps varying depending on cloud formation, shadow and time of day etc. The loads connected to the inverter will also be having its own variations in loading pattern. Hence it is very essential to have a battery backup to act as a buffer and for storage of electricity produced through solar. Use C10 tubular batteries which are available in the market exclusively for solar systems.
